We take your privacy seriously. The only thing we ask you for when you
sign up for an account is your e-mail address, and you don't even need
to enter that if you don't want to. But it's probably a good idea to
do so, in case you forget your password and need to have us e-mail you
the hint phrase. And of course we would never give or sell your e-mail
address to anyone else. That would be downright rude!
We don't handle your credit card information at all. Our payment
provider takes care of all that for us, and we never even see the card
number.
We use Java for our acrostic application. If you have Java turned off
in your browser, you won't be able to do puzzles at all. We like Java.
There was a time years ago when Java was pretty slow. But these days
it works pretty well, and it's safe. So don't be afraid to turn it on,
at least when you're in the mood for a good acrostic puzzle.

Our site uses cookies. Some people have a phobia about cookies, but
relax. We're not tracking your every move. (For the techies who care,
there are three cookies. One remembers your account name, so we can
fill it in for you when you sign in. One remembers when you have
signed in. And one tells our site to display the animated logo graphic
only the first time you load the page. We think it's a pretty cool
graphic, but it would get old if you had to see it every time.) If
cookies are turned off in your browser, you can still do the free
puzzles, but our site will get absent-minded. You can sign in, but
we'll immediately forget that you did!
If you are using the iOS apps, here is our
Mobile Privacy Policy.
